W/c 20 April 2020
We hope you had a fun and restful Easter holiday, filled with family time, laughter and lots of chocolate.
This week we have based our English learning around a story called "The Bear Who Came to Babysit," the story is uploaded on here as a PDF and it would benefit the children to read it with an adult before doing the writing and comprehension tasks. Please continue to ensure that you listen to your child read daily and snuggle up and share a story with them as well!
Our Maths this week is focussing on Money, you may wish to look around your home for some spare change to support your child with this, if you are feeling creative you could play shops at home in addition to the worksheets provided. Our MyMaths (https://www.mymaths.co.uk/) task is also based on Money, please do ensure that you are allowing your child time to complete these weekly as they provide teachers with an opportunity to see how much your child has understood the topic. Please also ensure that your child is allowed to play on Times Table Rockstars (https://ttrockstars.com/) at least twice a week for 10 minutes, as this will support their confidence with times tables and the related division facts.
Our Science this week is based on plants and their habitats and for our Learning Quest we have set a challenge for your child to create a board game or quiz based on their prior learning this year. The quiz or game can either be on London, the Seaside or the UK's geography. Have fun!
Also, this week we are celebrating , World Earth Day will be celebrated - with a slight twist. Please visit: http://www.earthday.org/ for more information, (activity below)
We thank you for your continued support at this time and send you all our best wishes.
