Year 4 Ancient Greece

In Year 4, we have been learning about the ancient Greek civilisation as part of our history topic.

We had a themed ancient Greek workshop where we re-enacted a famous myth about the gods and goddesses of Ancient Greece. We also played a board game called ‘Petteia’ based on a story about the Trojan war. We pieced together the mathematical Archimedes Puzzle which is around 2200 years old! We learnt that Archimedes was a philosopher, mathematician, scientist and an inventor. One of his most famous inventions was the Archimedes screw which is used today for pumping liquids and solids such as coal and grain!
