Bletchley Park visit for Year 6

Year 6’s new history unit is World War II.

We began by creating a timeline of the key events in WWII and learning about the causes of the war. Imagining what it would be like to be a child evacuee during the war, we have acted in role and written postcards home to family. During our visit to Bletchley Park, we learnt about enigma codes, how they were used during the war and even had the opportunity to break our own codes. We have enjoyed learning about a monumental time in our country’s history and are looking forward to learning more about WWII this half term.
