Learning about Poetry...

Kaya, Willow class

Year 3 has produced some amazing work right up until the end of this school year, demonstrating all the learning we have done both at home and school over the year.

Poetry has been the focus in English, and we have had some outstanding examples. Many of us wrote about how we missed the fun things we usually do at school in our, I didn’t know I’d miss... poems about what we miss in lockdown.

In art, we have achieved some fantastic final pieces at the end of our unit on sketching buildings. We ended the year with a fun design project to create our own pantomime costumes. Year 3 has also enjoyed finding out about the fascinating story of Tutankhamun in our Learning Quest topic on Ancient Egypt.

All the teachers are so proud of Year 3, for their commitment to their home learning and to all the helpers at home who have put in such hard work. We will be putting up some links for those of you who want to back up your learning over the Summer.

We are very proud of all the children in Year 3 for all their hard work. We also appreciate all the hard work and support that comes from the parents.

Currently, Year 3 are learning about Ancient Egypt as part of their new Learning Quest topic.

In science, we are learning about forces and magnets. The children have investigated how different surfaces can affect the speed and distance of a moving toy car. This week they will be using magnets to learn about magnetic and non magnetic objects.
